Core Values

RISE is the behaviour standard that guides how ASECIANs work, communicate, make decisions and protect the ASEC Standard.

RISE

Values are not posters. They are daily behaviours.

ASEC values should be visible in the way we speak, decide, follow through, serve customers and work with one another. RISE helps us define what good behaviour looks like, not only what good intention sounds like.

RISE Overview

The four behaviours behind RISE

Each value protects a different part of how ASEC works. Together, they shape trust, accountability, teamwork and quality.

R

Respect

How we treat people, work and responsibility.

I

Integrity

How we act when trust, truth and responsibility matter.

S

Synergy

How we work across teams instead of protecting only our own task.

E

Excellence

How we improve quality, reduce repeated mistakes and raise standards.

From value to behaviour

RISE becomes meaningful only when values are translated into observable work behaviour.

ValueWhat ASEC believes is important.
BehaviourWhat people actually do at work.
EvidenceWhat can be observed through actions and impact.
ReviewHow behaviour can be discussed fairly.
GrowthHow people improve over time.
Behaviour Guide

What RISE looks like in daily work

The purpose of this guide is to help employees understand the difference between expected behaviour, above expectation behaviour and behaviour that falls below ASEC’s standard.

Respect

Treat people, work and responsibility seriously.

Expected Standard

Listen properly, respond professionally, complete handover clearly and handle disagreement without personal attack.

Above Expectation

Helps create a safer and more respectful working environment by calming conflict, guiding others or improving team communication.

Below Standard

Dismisses others, ignores follow up, responds emotionally or treats another team’s work as unimportant.

Integrity

Do the right thing even when it is inconvenient.

Expected Standard

Tell the truth early, follow procedures, protect information and take responsibility when mistakes happen.

Above Expectation

Raises risks before they become bigger problems and helps the team improve control, transparency or accountability.

Below Standard

Hides mistakes, delays bad news, ignores procedures or gives incomplete information that causes risk to the company or customer.

Synergy

Solve company problems, not only department problems.

Expected Standard

Share information early, coordinate with relevant teams and understand how your work affects others.

Above Expectation

Connects people, removes friction and helps different teams complete work more smoothly together.

Below Standard

Works in silo, blames other teams, withholds information or creates avoidable handover problems.

Excellence

Raise the standard of work and keep improving.

Expected Standard

Deliver accurate work, reduce repeated mistakes, follow through on responsibilities and improve when feedback is given.

Above Expectation

Improves a process, creates a useful standard, prevents repeated problems or helps others raise their quality of work.

Below Standard

Repeats the same mistakes, accepts low quality work, avoids improvement or only acts when being pushed.

Connection to Review

How RISE connects to performance

RISE is not only a culture statement. It helps ASEC describe the work behaviours we expect from every team member.

For employees

Use RISE to understand what good behaviour looks like in your role, not only what result you are expected to achieve.

For managers

Use RISE language to give clearer feedback about behaviour, teamwork, responsibility and quality.

For performance review

RISE may be used to discuss behaviour during review. The detailed method for recording evidence and performance notes should be covered in the Performance Review Guide.

Final Takeaway

RISE turns values into behaviour. When people practise Respect, Integrity, Synergy and Excellence consistently, the ASEC Standard becomes visible in daily work.
